Easy to say, ULPA is an acronym for "ultra-low particulate air." An ULPA filter is designed to remove at least 99.999% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria and any airborne particles with a size of 100 nanometers or larger from the air. ULPA filters are made of a spun-hooked glass fiber, rolled into a paper-like material, which is then pleated, increasing the filter's surface area.
