Most people are familiar with Dust filter which is a useful filtering device that can be used to remove dust of different sizes in the air. However, only a few of them can clearly tell the difference of different kinds of dust filters. Here is a brief introduction about dust filters classification. A dust filter is a useful filtering device designed to remove particles from the air. It can enhance the quality of air released from industrial and commercial processes by collecting dust and other impurities from air or gas. Dust filters are used in homes and offices but some are frequently used in an industrial setting. A dust filter may remove more than just dust and it can protest equipment and products as well. Generally speaking, apart from dust filters, there are still three kinds of dust filters classification. They are inertial separators, wet scrubbers, and electrostatic precipitators.

An inertial separator is designed to separate dust from gas. During the progress, it uses gravitational, inertial and other forces. Actually the combination of forces used is different from each other because of the different types of inertial separator. Settling chambers and baffle chambers and centrifugal filters are the three most common types of dust filters. Each of them has advantages and disadvantages. So this is one kind of dust Filters classification.

Wet scrubber is another kind of dust filters classification. It is designed to use liquid to perform the separation tasks and to absorb fine dust. In this operation, water is the most common scrubbing liquid to use in it. There are many kinds of wet scrubbers and there are several modes of operation. In normal case, the scrubbing liquid captures the dust in droplets that are collected and removed. Then, the scrubbed air or gas must be demisted, a process that removes the added moisture.

Electrostatic precipitator is the last dust filters classification. It is regularly used to separate dust particles from dusty air streams. Different from other Air filters classifications, it uses electrostatic forces. With these dust filters, dirty air flows through a passage into an ionizing area where the dust particles receive a negative charge as they pass between electrodes. Then, the particles are attracted to positively charged electrodes on collection plates while the clean air flows out. This kind of stage electrostatic precipitator which is regarded as more efficient is commonly used in plants that are engaged in large-scale welding or woodworking.

This is the brief introduction about dust filters classifications. If you want to buy a dust filter, you have to know the dust filters classifications firstly.
